Spirituality of the Heart |
|
A Spirituality of the Heart reverences the human heart as loved by God unconditionally, and as the privileged place of encounter with God. Living such a spirituality involves the journey into one’s own heart and into the heart of the human condition, open to encountering there the compassionate heart of Jesus – the heart of God. It is this encounter which has the power to transform brokenness into blessing, to create our world anew. |

In fulfilling the Mission of the Chevalier Institute we are committed to:
- facilitating formation that
- takes account of the lived reality of lay people (past and present) and their diverse spiritual journeys, and engages the charism of Jules Chevalier in a purposeful and relevant way
- follows sound adult learning principles.acknowledges respected theories of human development (physical, psychological, spiritual & emotional development).- is an ongoing process requiring a commitment of both time and resources.
- respects and actively acknowledges the inter-relationship between body, mind and spirit.
- acknowledges, and is in dialogue with, the ‘lived heritage’ of the ministries of the OLSH and MSCs in the Australia – Pacific region.
- skilling and forming ‘formators’, so as to empower them to facilitate formation in their local contexts.
- seeking out and making available resources that are supportive of our Mission.
- planning and offering a range of liturgical experiences as an integral part of all formation experiences.
